"Winter" , is the planet

This essay is based on : Le guin - Left hand of darkness

Equality paradise , Tha'st on planet "Winter" , as the author introduces the biological evolution or even the artificial mutation to be the only and permanent solution for all our world diseases in "Winter"  a full invented planet during the ice age .
" Permanent gender role leads to suicide "  , that's the conclusion regarding Hode- Estraven' relationship . The author considers relationships as a temporary tendency, especially role playing. So , according to Leguin :  be limited to one side of that polar relationship leads to a catastrophe a suicide may be , just like Hode the dead lover.

Le Guin seems to suggest a deep dilemma or she , herself falls into that dualism as she seems to be with and against in the same time .
She somehow considers sexual roles to be behind all evil of the world, especially that duality of masculine-feminine " Consider: There is no unconsenting sex, no rape. No division of humanity into strong and weak halves, protective/protected, dominant/submissive, owner/chattel, active/passive "1.
She introduces two solutions for gender problem :
1- Biological : in some way or another , to make a shemale race who is able to experience all sexual roles and to obligate people feel each other so no one will suppress the other gender..
2- Economically , by ending property and Lineage just like "Winter" where anyone can be a father or a mother to another one .Also monogamy is allowed.
" In fact the whole tendency to dualism that pervades human thinking may be found to be lessened, or changed, on Winter. " (2)

Le Guin critics implicitly "Winter's" life, even if it looks like Utopia but by choosing the planet's name to be "Winter" and setting to be in ice age where ice symbolizes death and sterility  : may be she wants to tell us how cold that solution would be , she sees the solution and also knows that would be a cold age for senses if its ever applied. Total equality may be a little bit cold.
