Alice : Why did i cry that much?

This essay is about "The pool of tears" of Lewis Carroll - Alice's Adventures in wonderland

That story should be titled: Exaggeration as a disastrous choice .
All along the story of "Pool of tears" we are completely inside Alice's own fight , as she eats the cake and become giant, get the door key and isn't able to pass through it , she remains laying on one side waving with the rabbit fan and crying to herself her miserable situation until she suddenly shrinks and sinks in her own tears.

The plot is logical for such a fantastic dreamy story. The writer draws some scenes dynamically specially about Alice in salty water , So the reader is able to see some spinning in the water "making quite a commotion in the pool as it went - P38" and feeling Alice tiredness from swimming , " her foot slipped and in another movement splash . she was up to her chin in salt water" p22

The story mainly symbolize an inner struggle and an existentialist matter as the writer materializes Alice's drowning within herself and inside her problems in the form of an outer conflict and Alice fighting against her own tears in order to survive.

Hence, when she finally gives up the hysteria and the exaggeration reaction she leads the way out of the pool. "I shall be punished for it now! I supposed by being drowned in my own tears" p24

The setting of the story is in the rabbit hole/house which is beneath the surface , symbolizing the inner drowning ,  and how much it is narrow as a prison for her giant body then. "lying down on one side to look through into the garden with one eye but to get through was more hopeless then ever – p17"

The major existentialist question appears in Alice's confused monologue , she loses her sense of being , keeps asking herself who she is? "who am I then " p21 , is she another being now ? Ada or Mable as she revises her own general knowledge and recites to herself the multiplication table, geography , etc.. and she ends up thinking of herself  becoming Mable the dump girl.

So, no one should ever think about children tales as superficial stories or children hallucination which help parents get them kids into bed, the story is so deep then many adult stories starting by the title " pool of tears" and all along the text holding both a philosophical phase and a deep psychological line. That story Keeps the reader satisfied mentally and Literary and leaves a joyful reading impression until the last drop of words.
